First Lady Madam Fatoumata Bah-Barrow recently travelled to Geneva, Switzerland, where she was hosted by UNAIDS Executive Director, Ms. Winnie Byanyima. Their engagements highlighted mutual areas of interest to collaborate with the First Lady’s Foundation – Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow Foundation (FABB) – to support vulnerable women living with HIVAIDS.
In separate engagements, the First Lady also held meetings with WTO Executive Director Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and the Executive Director International Trade Centre, Pamela Coke Hamilton. Mrs Okonjo-Iweala Congratulated Her Excellency on the important work she does in Gambian communities to champion the education and health of girls and women, and also on signing an MOU with the Geneva-based Health Care Foundation. Both meetings centred on collaboration to access quality healthcare, skills for youth and women employment and entrepreneurship in the Gambia.
